On Thursday, November 14, the Chelsea High Boys Basketball team played against Vestavia. The team gave their best effort but lost 65-58.

Two Hornets that stood out in defeat were seniors Andrew Messier and Jacob Tierney.

Messier played well, notching 21 points and 4 assists. Tierney also played a good game and chipped in 13 points.

Despite a strong individual game, Messier was quick to point out areas where the Hornets could have been better.

“We could have finished possessions better and (done better) rebounding,” Messier said.

Asked what the team took from the close loss, Messier said, “Learning how to compete with good teams in close games is something we are learning and really took from this game. By area play, we are hoping to be very successful in this phase of the game.”
