A pair of Shelby County rivals will hit the field Friday night when Chelsea hosts Oak Mountain in a big Class 7A, Region 3 matchup.
Chelsea enters the game with a 1-2 overall record, having lost their opener to Helena before knocking off Calera. The Hornets then lost to Tuscaloosa County in their region opener last week.
Oak Mountain is also 1-2 on the year. The Eagles beat Northridge in their opener but have lost the last two against Pelham and Hewitt-Trussville.
Oak Mountain leads the all-time series between the two teams at 9-2, but Chelsea is looking to win its second row against the Eagles. The Hornets were victorious 21-7 last year on the Eagles’ home field.
