After last week’s win against Mobile Christian, Chelsea football looks to gain momentum going into week 2 against the Wetumpka Indians.
Wetumpka comes into the nest 1-0 after beating the Beauregard Hornets 19-14 and looks to capitalize and get 2 straight victories. Chelsea plays its second home game in a row and looks to be 2-0 for the first time since 2011. The Hornets come off a strong 24-3 victory against Mobile Christian High School.
“I felt like we were very prepared to play (Mobile Christian),” said junior safety Sam Parrish. “Everyone wanted to prove ourselves, so we had to put on a show against a team like them.”
Looking forward to the Wetumpka game, Parrish noted the number of offensive weapons the Indians have.
“They look like they’re pretty solid,” Parrish said. “They have an alright running back, a couple of receivers who can run and catch deep balls, and a quarterback who is not afraid to stay in the pocket but is also a threat on the run.”
The game will kick off at 7 p.m.
