Tis the season to get together with friends and family to celebrate the holidays. As Christmas time comes around the corner, many seasonal events open their doors to spread holiday cheer. The varieties of these events range from a live walk-through nativity scene to light shows featuring thousands of lights. The Chelsea Buzz has found the best local holiday events happening this winter season, to make sure our readers enjoy the most fun the holidays have to offer.

If colorful holiday lights are your cup-of-tea, then create a memory to last a lifetime at the Oak Mountain Festival of Lights. For more than a year, the Amphitheatre has been hard at work behind the scenes creating a magical experience for you and your family to enjoy this holiday season. Follow the path all along the property of the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre with your radio tuned to Festival of Lights Radio (93.3 FM) to enjoy a customized holiday station, synchronized to the beautiful light show. The Oak Mountain Festival of Lights is open now through January 3rd. Gates open at 5:30PM each evening at 1000 Amphitheater Road Pelham AL, 35124. Tickets can be purchased at the Festival of Lights Box Office for $25 per car.

Take a train ride filled with Christmas Cheer as you ride the Santa Special in Calera! Board the vintage train decorated for the season and take a train ride where Santa will visit you and your family and friends. Make sure to bring your camera to get a photo of all the sights and a picture with Santa! The Santa Special train ride lasts approximately 1 hour. Train departures at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Santa Special will be open November 28th through December 19th

Don’t forget the fun holiday event that everyone in the family will enjoy, the Chelsea Christmas Parade. The Chelsea Christmas parade will be held on December 19th. The parade is a free event that everyone in town annually loves. The parade is filled with beautiful floats, your neighbors, and Chelsea pride. Be to sure start your Saturday morning and observe the Chelsea Christmas Parade at 10 a.m.
