The Hornets entered this crosstown rivalry with a 2-0 record on the year. Pelham on the other hand has yet to show any success in their first 2 games of the new season. This game was an absolute thriller to the end which capped off with a last second touchdown run for the Hornets to win the game.
In an interview with John Leith, one of Chelsea’s star defensive players, he mentions some of the Hornets strengths and weaknesses. When asked about how our defense played against Pelham John gave us a wide response. ” I feel like we played really good, but we need to work on the passing game”. John was also asked what our biggest problem on defense was ? ” Covering the deep ball is our biggest weakness right now.
Chelsea Quarterback Miller Bauman, was also asked some questions about the Hornets performance in the win against the Pelham Panthers. When asked about the wet conditions of the game Miller gave some great information. ” The rain did make it hard in the passing game so the run game had to be a main focus. As the rain started to let up our passing game was able to expand”.
The Hornets are looking to improve to a 4-0 record and a 2-0 record in region play at home this week in a matchup with the Calera Eagles.
