Mrs. Allison Gooch is in her third year of teaching at Chelsea High School. The Buzz asked her some questions.
Chelsea Buzz: What is something that motivates you?
Allison Gooch: Being able to see forward progress and increased results in really any part of my life.
Chelsea Buzz: What is the best thing about being a teacher?
Allison Gooch: Getting to help students prepare for their future’s and be a positive influence in their lives.
Chelsea Buzz: Do you like savory foods or sweet foods better?
Allison Gooch: Sweet!
Chelsea Buzz: What is your favorite snack?
Allison Gooch : Cheese puffs or white cheddar Cheetos.
Chelsea Buzz: What is your dream vacation?
Allison Gooch: A European tour to places like Venice, Greece, Amsterdam, etc.
Chelsea Buzz: Where did you go to college?
Allison Gooch: The University of South Alabama.
Chelsea Buzz: Alabama, Auburn, or other?
Allison Gooch: Either South Alabama or Ole Miss (husband’s alma mater).
Chelsea Buzz: What makes a “good day” at school?
Allison Gooch: When all of my students engage in the lesson for that day and have fun learning together.
Chelsea Buzz: How long have you taught at Chelsea?
Allison Gooch: This is my 3rd year teaching.
Chelsea Buzz: If you weren’t a teacher what job would you have?
Allison Gooch: Full-time soccer coach.
Chelsea Buzz: Who is someone from your childhood, teenage years, or early adulthood that you look up to? Why?
Allison Gooch: My grandmother; She was my best friend, my biggest fan, and always believed I could do whatever I set my mind to no matter how big or small the task/goal.
Chelsea Buzz: What is your favorite book? Why?
Allison Gooch: Win the Heart by Mark Miller because it inspires me to be intentional about the way I lead my students and athletes; to find ways to motivate those around me to be the best versions of themselves.
