Pickers divided on Thursday Night Football

Grant Lang and Andrew Messier

Buzz writers Andrew Messier and Grant Lang make their predictions for this week’s NFL games, starting with tonight’s matchup between the Browns and the Ravens.

Browns @ Ravens -Thursday Night (11/10) 8:25 P.M.- The Thursday night game of the week features two teams desperate for wins as the Browns still winless through 9 games look to find their first win at the Ravens stadium and the Ravens are looking for a much needed win to beat out Pittsburgh in their division.  Watch for Terrelle Pryor Sr. to destroy the Ravens secondary and on the Raven’s side watch for Mike Wallace to catch some deep balls.

  • Andrew’s Pick-  (Browns) Isaiah Crowell will find the endzone multiple times in a close Brown’s win.
  • Grant’s Pick-  (Ravens) Joe Flacco will pick apart the Brown’s defense in a big Raven’s blowout.

49ers @ Cardinals -Sunday Afternoon (11/13) 4:25 P.M.- One of the most anticipated matchups of week 10 is going to be a good one as the Cardinals are coming off a much needed bye and the 49ers are coming off a close loss to the Saints.  Watch for Carson Palmer to get the ball to his playmakers and also watch for the 49ers defense to step up against one of the best offenses in the NFL.

  • Andrew’s Pick-  (Cardinals) David Johnson will have a good game against a tough 49ers defense.
  • Grant’s Pick-  (Cardinals) Larry Fitzgerald has a solid game in a much needed win for the Cardinals at home.

Bears @ Buccaneers -Sunday Afternoon (11/13) 12:00 P.M.- A battle of the worst of the worst in the NFL contains two of the NFL’s worst teams.  The Buccaneers sitting tied for last with the Panthers in their division hopes to exploit one of the NFL’s worst defenses with strong wide receiver play while the Bears look to win two straight and win their third game on the season with their gritty run game led by Jordan Howard.

  • Andrew’s Pick-  (Bears) Jay Cutler continues his magic in an easy Bear’s win.
  • Grant’s Pick-  (Bears) Matt Barkley will take over Cutler in a big Bear’s win.

Bengals @ Giants -Monday Night (11/14) 7:30 P.M.- This game has to be one of the most interesting games of the week as the Bengals are coming off of a bye and a tie against the Redskins while the Giants are coming off a bye and an impressive win against the Eagles.  Both teams started the year as favorites to win the Super Bowl, but both of the teams have started the season slow.  Watch for superstars like A.J. Green for the Bengals and Odell Beckham for the Giants both have big games for their teams.

  • Andrew’s Pick-  (Giants) The Giants will establish a run game early with Rashad Jennings and will win a big game to catch up with the Cowboys.
  • Grant’s Pick-  (Bengals) Giovani Bernard will become unstoppable in the backfield and the Bengals defense will hold Eli to just a score.

Chiefs @ Panthers- Sunday Afternoon (11/13) 12:00 P.M.- The Kansas City Chiefs are now second in the AFC West behind the Raiders. To keep this position or even move up, they must beat Cam Newton and the Panthers at Charlotte. . The Panthers have struggled so far only with 3 wins in the books so far this season. Although Carolina has a struggling offense at the moment, they still have a lock-down defense led by All-Pro LB Luke Kuechly. The Kansas City Chiefs have won this season on both sides of the ball with an offense led by TE Travis Kelce. Their secondary is dangerous in Marcus Peters and Ron Parker. The better defense will come out on top in this one.

  • Andrew’s Pick-  (Chiefs) The Chiefs defense will step up in a crucial game for the Chiefs.
  • Grant’s Pick-  (Chiefs) Travis Kelce gets hyped after being thrown out of last weeks game for unsportsmanlike conduct and catches a couple touchdowns.

Broncos @ Saints- Sunday Afternoon (11/13) 12:00 P.M.- The Denver Broncos have dropped to third in the AFC West after last week’s poor performance on offense against the Oakland Raiders. They have a struggling offense with RB Cj Anderson hurt. Trevor Siemian has not been playing well in the past few weeks and his completion percentage has dropped. Luckily for Denver, New Orleans has a struggling defense allowing about 30 PPG the past 9 weeks. The /saints do have a great offense led by QB Drew Brees. The Denver defense will need to count on outside LBs Von Miller and Demarcus Ware to get to Brees before he can get comfortable in the pocket. This will definitely be a game between the Saints’ offense and the lockdown Denver defense.

  • Andrew’s Pick-  (Saints) Drew Brees will have the hot hand and will find his talented wide receivers in the end zone.
  • Grant’s Pick-  (Broncos) Kapri Bibbs returns a touchdown for a much needed win for the Broncos to end their losing streak.

Cowboys @ Steelers- Sunday Afternoon (11/13) 4:25 P.M.- After a win over the Philadelphia Eagles in an OT thriller at Dallas, the Cowboys are looking for another win without the stress of OT. The Steelers are coming off an upset of a 21-14 loss at Baltimore last Sunday. This is a battle between two strong offenses with Dallas featuring Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Jason Witten. The Steelers are led by Ben Roethlisberger, Le’veon Bell, and All-Pro WR Antonio Brown. Defense will not be a factor in this game because the offenses going head to head are too good for a defense to consistently stop.

  • Andrew’s Pick-  (Cowboys) The legend of Dak will continue and the Cowboys will just keep rolling.
  • Grant’s Pick-  (Steelers) Antonio Brown has a big game and will lead the Steelers to a win.

Seahawks @ Patriots- Monday Night (11/14) 7:30 P.M.- This is a Super Bowl 49 rematch after the tragic loss against the Patriots with a game ending interception on the goal line. The Seattle Seahawks have had major losses since then like LB Bruce Irvin. The Patriots have a great offense led by TE Rob Gronkowski and QB Tom Brady. Seattle’s offense is led by WR Doug Baldwin and QB Russell Wilson. This will be a defensive battle though because the defense with the most stops will get their offense on the field more often.

  • Andrew’s Pick- (Patriots) Gronkowski’s overall size and athleticism will be too much for Seattle.
  • Grant’s Pick- (Seahawks) Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor will keep Gronk at bay to keep him out of the endzone.

Other Game Predictions:

Rams @ Jets (11/13) Sunday Afternoon 12:00 P.M.

Andrew’s Pick-  (Rams) Benny Cunningham has a big game in a big win for the Rams.

Grant’s Pick-   (Jets) Matt Forte will find the endzone to keep the Jets alive in the playoff race.

Packers @ Titans (11/13) Sunday Afternoon 12:00 P.M.

Andrew’s Pick-  (Packers) Ty Montgomery, the all-purpose back, does everything in an easy win against the Titans.

Grant’s Pick-  (Titans) Marcus Mariota will find open receivers and use his speed to burn the Packer’s defense.

Falcons @ Eagles (11/13) Sunday Afternoon 12:00 P.M.

Andrew’s Pick-  (Eagles) Darren Sproles continues to make big plays for the Eagles in a solid win over the Falcons.

Grant’s Pick- (Falcons) Julio Jones will get open too often for the Eagles to stop him.

Texans @ Jaguars (11/13) Sunday Afternoon 12:00 P.M.

Andrew’s Pick-  (Jaguars) Allen Robinson will burn the Texan’s weak secondary and will lead the Jaguars to their third win.

Grant’s Pick- (Texans) Lamar Miller will be too fast for the Jaguars to catch and will find the endzone often.

Vikings @ Redskins (11/13) Sunday Afternoon 12:00 P.M.

Andrew’s Pick-  (Vikings) The Vikings defense will continue its dominance in a blowout win over the Redskins.

Grant’s Pick- (Vikings) Sam Bradford will dominate the game with multiple TDs over Josh Norman.

Dolphins @ Chargers (11/13) Sunday Afternoon 3:05 P.M.

Andrew’s Pick-  (Dolphins) Jay Ajayi will continue his magic in a big win against the Chargers.

Grant’s Pick- (Chargers) RB Melvin Gordon will continue to find holes in the defense and break multiple long runs for the Charger offense.
