General

Congratulations to Brianna Braden and Maddy Seeboth for earning the Honor Degree distinction for the National Speech and Debate Association. This is determined by the number of tournaments attended and the number of wins per tournament.

You have an opportunity to participate in the experience of the lifetime. Mrs. Bonnie Montgomery will be leading a tour of England and France in June of 2017. She is hosting a parent meeting Tuesday, March 1st in room B119 @ 6:30 p.m. Stop by and see Mrs. Montgomery for more information. You will not  want to miss this trip! Make Up Cap and Gown Pictures is Monday, February 29th. Cap and Gown money is due by Tuesday, March 8th to Ms. Hamrick.

Peer Helper applications are available for sophomores in Ms. Bailey’s classroom. Applications are due by 3 p.m. , Friday, March 4.

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS: the price of Prom tickets goes up by $20 after this Friday, February 26th. See Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Trippeer, or Mrs. Parramore to purchase your while they are still $65 per couple and $35 for single tickets.

Project HOPE strives to help homeless youth in the Birmingham Area!  Peerhelpers are collecting personal hygiene items during the week of March 7th through March 10th and will be located at all entrances of the school each morning. PLEASE SUPPORT THOSE IN NEED!!!!!!!!

Congratulation to the Model UN team for representing India, North Korea, and New Zealand so well at the University of Alabama Model UN conference this weekend! Congratulation also to Hannah Dawson for getting the Verbal Communication award in the Social, Humanitarian & Cultural committee representing India.

Sport

The girls soccer team finishes as the runner-up in the top division of the Lakeshore Shoot-out. Scoring for the hornets were Sophie Wilson, Calisa Long, Lexie Duca, and Haley Greene. Sophie Wilson was selected for the All-Tournament Team.

Congratulation to the Chelsea Wrestling team for competing  in the AHSAA state championship the weekend. The team  finished 16th overall out of 41 teams the highest finish in school history. A special congratulations in Aaron Ledbetter for finishing 2nd place in the 120 lbs. weight division. Aaron finished with a record of 46-5 and finishes his career as one of Chelsea’s most accomplished wrestlers.
