Chelsea (1-0) was led by senior guard Sydney Schwallie. Schwallie finished the night with a team-high 17 points to go along with three assists.
The Hornets also got strong games from Nia Cummings, who scored 13 points, and Lexi Redd, who finished with 11 points.
Chelsea will return to play Tuesday for its second game with another road trip – this time to Clay-Chalkville. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
