Last Friday, September 3, Chelsea traveled to Briarwood Christian High School to face the Lions in their yearly rivalry. The final score was a 42-35 Lion victory in overtime.

This is Chelsea’s head coach, Dustin Goodwin’s 4th time playing against the long-time rival. Goodwin is 0-4 against the Lions so far in his head coaching career at Chelsea.

Very offensive game as Briarwood ended with 259 yards of total offense to Chelsea’s 224 yards. On the defensive side Brady Clements led the Hornets with 8 tackles.

Hornet’s safety, Evan Durham, says his go to artists for pre-game music are Meek Mill and TLE Cinco. When asked about what the team can learn from and improve on moving forward in the season, Evan says that the Hornets need to continue practicing hard and to keep up with film.

Going forward into this week’s game the Lions will face the Woodlawn Colonels who are coming off a 49-0 loss against Mountain Brook. The Homewood Patriots travel to Chelsea. The Patriots are 2-1 and are coming off a 45-18 loss against McAdory.

The Hornets will look to pull off their first win of the season Friday night.
