The Chelsea Lady Hornets varsity volleyball team played its first area game Tuesday night against the Briarwood Lions, capturing a 3-0 win.

The Hornets, who are currently ranked fifth in the Class 6A state poll, improved to 13-1. Chelsea won the match quickly despite Briarwood keeping each of the games close.   

Unfortunately the JV Lady Hornets came up short after a hard fight, they lost after 2 sets to Briarwood. 

The JV and varsity teams will both be traveling to Alexandria to play in a tri match Thursday against Alexandria and Lincoln.
