The Chelsea volleyball team had a successful opening weekend, picking up four wins in four matches against a wide range of competition.

The Hornets (4-0), who are ranked No. 4 in Class 6A, began their run on Thursday with a 3-1 win over visiting Vestavia Hills.

Chelsea then ran off three straight victories in a quad match, each by a score of two games to none, against Pell City, Hueytown, and Ben Russell.

The varsity squad will return to action on Tuesday when it hosts Clay-Chalkville.

The JV Hornets also notched  a win Thursday over Vestavia, 2-1.
