The Chelsea Hornets varsity football team will open its 2021 season on Friday when it hosts Oak Mountain in the first game of the season for both teams.

The teams will kick off at 7 p.m. in what will be the fourth season-opener for Dustin Goodwin since taking over as Chelsea’s football coach in 2018. Leading the Oak Mountain sideline will be Tyler Crane, who will be making his head coaching debut for the Eagles.

The Hornets will be looking to improve upon last season’s 4-6 record, while Oak Mountain finished the 2020 season with a 7-5 mark. In last season’s matchup at Oak Mountain, the Eagles were victorious by a score of 38-2.
