The Alabama Governor’s School is a summer residential honors program that will be held June 16th-June 28th at Samford University. Chelsea High is allowed to nominate four current juniors. Then a panel of distinguished educators selects the students who will be chosen to attend. If chosen the student will take seminars that focus on hands-on experiential learning and are led by leading academic, business, and political experts.
1) Preference will be given to students who have achieved at least one of the following:
– A composite score of 25 on the ACT within the past two years or
-A selection index score of 170 on the PSAT within the past two years or
-A score of 1650 on the SAT within the past two years
2) Student exhibits at least two of the following:
– Specific Academic Aptitude
– Fine and/or Performing ARts
– Creative or Productive Thinking Ability
– Leadership Ability
