The Chelsea Out Of The Blue Show Choir has come along way since their start three years ago and even from their start at the beginning of this season. For being one of the newer show choir groups, only competing for two years, OOTB has been nationally recognized for their achievements.

Last years season couldn’t have gone better for the group, placing 2nd at all of their competitions except for one. The group also got to travel to Nashville for Nationals last year, making it into finals and placing fourth overall. At the end of the school year OOTB lost one of their members to a battle with a heart condition and this year the group decided to dedicate their show to her.

The OOTB show for this year is uniquely titled “Home” meaning no matter where life takes you or how lost you get, you will always find your way home. The group has 15 minute show including the songs; What A Wonderful World, It’s A Beautiful Day, Good To Be Alive, Roads/Home, Little Lamb From Alabama, Sweet Home Alabama, and My Country ‘Tis of Thee/Freedom. They have been practicing their show since July, to perfect their show. It has not been an easy season for OOTB, but they have overcome their battles.

The very first competition was at the Vestavia Hills Contempo Festival, which is an event where show choirs go to prep for their season. The second competition was at Jackson Prep in Mississippi where the show choir placed third in their division. The third competition took place in Albertville, AL OOTB placing 4th out of 15 groups. The fourth competition, happening this past weekend. Where the group placed 1st in their division for the very first time, making it to finals. In finals OOTB got to compete against the very best groups from each division and overall they placed 2nd.

This coming weekend OOTB competes in Jasper, AL and their hoping to do even better than last weekend!
