The Chelsea High School wrestling team has been off to a hot start during the 2018-19 season. Most recently, the Hornets competed in the Region V Duals on January 10 at Homewood High School, where they captured first place. It marks the second consecutive season the Hornets have won this particular tournament.

Chelsea came in tops out of a field that included Helena, Homewood, Minor, and Pelham.

The Hornets are coached by Heath Butler and assisted by Adam Oliver and Ray Haley. The squad is led by a strong contingent of senior wrestlers, including Wesley Pouncey, Sam Ingram, Heath Guarnieri, Hakeem Stanford, Josh Gore, and Gavin Rigor.

Chelsea is looking forward to postseason wrestling, which will get rolling with the Class 6A Sectionals, held February 8-9 in Montgomery.
