Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY)

Great Leadership Opportunity!

HOBY’s (The Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar) flagship program, the State Leadership Seminar (LS), is designed to help high school sophomores recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace, and community. Selected students attend a three-day seminar and participate in hands-on leadership activities, meet leaders from the state, and explore their own personal leadership skills, all while learning how to lead others and make a positive impact in their community. The seminar curriculum is based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership, and Leadership for Society. The leadership seminar will be held at Troy University in Troy, AL (3-4 days in April – June.). To be considered as a ChHS nominee, submit your resume and a paragraph describing the most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community to Mrs. Maddox by Friday, November 9th at 3:00.
