CHHS students adjust to ‘halftime’
August 28, 2018
Chelsea High School has finally given the students the freedom they deserve. The high school is allowing the students to have a whole entire hour, for the students to use however they want.
You can catch up on homework, get help from a teacher, or just simply hangout with friends. It is the student’s choice on how they use their hour of freedom. Of course there are limits to what you can do. You must stay in the zones that you are allowed to go in. You cannot go into the areas that do not have zone signs above them without a pass. There is also a zone where you can go just to read and have quiet time.
Ninth grader, Evie Green, was asked how she felt about halftime. Green says, “It’s not as great as I thought it would be because it is really crowded. There is nowhere to go but it is a nice break to have halfway through the school day.”
Tenth grader, Kadian Ott, was also asked what her thoughts on halftime were. Ott said, “It’s a mess like me, it is really unorganized.”
There you have it! Halftime is a new way for the teachers to give the students the freedom they deserve and, as always, it is a great day to be a hornet.
