The Chelsea High School varsity wrestling team earned a pair of wins Tuesday, knocking off Shades Valley 60-18 and Fultondale 46-30.

Ben Byerman (120 pounds), Joe Harmon (138), Blake Baily (145), Clint Glaze (152), Sam Ingram (160), and Ty Adema (170) each earned two victories on the night. Byerman’s 15-second pin in his match against Shades Valley was the quickest victory of the night.

Brantley Ledbetter (113), Austin Sciara (126), Hunter Guarnieri (132), Caleb Gore (182) and Jordan Smith (220) also earned match wins for the Hornets. David Kerr (106), Hakeem Stanford (195) and Mitchell Beck (285) collected points via forfeit wins.

Chelsea’s varsity squad will wrestle again Thursday at home against Mortimer Jordan, Moody, and Dora. This weekend, the varsity will then travel to the Southside Classic, while the junior varsity will wrestle in the Spartan Invitational.
